After 10 months of ownership, I finally got my first kill. Going up a 4-lane road at 45 mph or so, I saw what looked like a woodchuck running headlong across the road. I gave a toot, but it was too late, and we bounced over the poor critter. RIP Woody.

I nearly stomped a woodchuck on the on-ramp this morning. Luckily we saw each other and he ran. Woodchucks are at the bottom of the list of small woodland creatures that I’d mind annihilating with my car.

Squirrels, mice, birds wouldn’t really upset me. But a raccoon or a woodchuck kill would make me a bit upset.

Crazy story: I saw a deer get exploded by an old school Suburban on the highway going about 65. It was a 4-lane highway with a median divider, and the deer made it past the other two lanes, bounded over the median, and was nearly across the next two lanes. The deer was SO CLOSE to making it, but his hind just got tagged by the corner of the Suburban. The poor thing practically blew up in mid-air. I was 1/4 mile back watching the whole thing unfold (the Suburban driver did his best), and I still got fur on my windshield.

I feel bad for the chipmunk that met my Dad’s BRZ last winter. He has Nokian Hakkapeliitta 8s:

These things are almost sharp enough to draw blood when you pick them up. My dad brought them home after being mounted and managed to gouge one of the rims through 2 trashbags with the studs. Oh, and they are designed with a duller stud made of a softer metal over the inner hard, sharp stud so they just get sharper as you drive. Take that DOT! They also sound like you are driving on gravel all the time which is awesome.

I haven’t killed anything but bugs in the F-car, but before that I had a P-car that ate a squirrel one week into ownership. It missed my front tires but was decimated by a rear tire on my inaugural mountain drive.

I hate hittin stuff with the Miata. also its lowered and has little clearance so it always sounds pretty bad
